Simple Springtime Cocktails
With the sun shining and perfect 80-degree days, it’s no wonder springtime on the Emerald Coast is something to be admired. Explore Santa Rosa bars, Miramar Beach, local whiskey distilleries, and the best restaurants in 30A, all in perfect weather — so you can get the most out of your 30A vacation. If it all gets to be too busy, a picnic on the beach or cocktails at home is always a classic option for the 30A lifestyle. We’ve collected a few recipes of cocktails you can make at home, with five ingredients or less – because vacation doesn’t need to be difficult.
Limoncello Spritz
This cocktail is an authentic derivative of Italy, a country that has much in common with the Emerald Coast. Picture wearing soft linens, watching the sunset at Blue Mountain Beach, sipping your Italian-inspired cocktail, and hearing the waves gently hit the white sand. That’s exactly the vibe that fits this cocktail.
1 ½ oz Aperol
½ oz Ciao Limoncello
3 oz Prosecco
Pour over crushed ice into a wine glass. Garnish was an orange twist and/or mint sprig.
Blue Mountain Old Fashioned
Our newest release of our Blue Mountain Beach Bourbon, Batch 7, is full of warm vanilla scent, with tasting notes of oak and tobacco – a Gulf Coast spirit bursting with flavor. So for this one, we’ll keep it simple. This bourbon, made in our Florida whiskey distillery, has been a favorite among tasting room guests. We think this easy-sipping cocktail would be best drunk at a beach bonfire gathering with close friends so that even if the temperature drops, our whiskey will keep you warm.
2 oz Blue Mountain Beach Bourbon, Batch 7
¼ oz simple syrup (or preferably demerara syrup)
3 dashes of Angostura bitters
2 dashes of orange bitters
Stir all ingredients together and serve over a big cube.
Seagrove Sea Breeze
This take on a classic cocktail draws inspiration from Seagrove Beach Community, a town lined with family-owned retail stores and restaurants. In a 2021 addition, a new beach access path makes Seagrove a perfect place for a lazy day in the sun. This cocktail is perfectly refreshingly bold and highlights grapefruit – a fruit that is in season this time of year.
1 ½ oz Seagrove Community Vodka
3 oz cranberry juice
1 ½ oz grapefruit juice
Stir or shake all ingredients together and pour over ice. Garnish with a lime wheel. For a large gathering, this one is easy to make in a big batch!
This spring, visit 30A and sit back, relax, and enjoy it with a beverage in hand. Plus, if you feel like even these simple cocktails are too much, that’s okay too! You can always swing by our Santa Rosa Beach tasting room for a whiskey tasting, local Florida rum, unique cocktails, and an authentic 30A community experience.
