The Making Of An Exceptional Bourbon
Originally distilled in Indiana this barrel found it’s way to Gonzales, Louisiana (LA) where it was resting in the stacks of our sister distillery; Sugarfield Spirits. Bailey Brigade board members traveled to LA and tasted through the Sugarfield stacks; hand selecting this exceptional seven (7) year old Bourbon. 30A Distilling Co arranged to have the Bailey Brigade Bourbon barrel transported to Florida and took custody of this amazing juice.
30A Distilling Co master distiller/blender, Brian Rabon, had recently dumped an American Oak barrel that contained 30A Distilling Co’s Orange Flavored Rum. Surmising that the recently emptied Orange Flavored Rum Barrel might add subtle notes of candied orange to the Bourbon, Brian transferred the Bourbon to the Orange Flavored Rum barrel and left it there for 2 weeks to barrel finish.
After harvesting the Bourbon for the final time; 30A Distilling Co assistant distiller, Shannon August, prepared a proof set (118.6 (Cask strength), 100, 95, 90, 85, 80). The entire Bailey Brigade Board came to 30A Distilling Co and Brian tasted them through the Bourbon at each of the 6 different proofs. In the end, it was unanimous - at Cask Strength (118.6 Proof) the Bourbon was shinning brightest.
30A Distilling Co had a one-of-a-kind label designed, with input from Bailey Brigade. In addition, Bailey Brigade commissioned a commemorative wooden box to protect and showcase the Bourbon. Once all the components were available at the distillery; the Bailey Brigade Board once again came to 30A Distilling Co to bottle and hand-number each and every bottle.
Today Bailey Brigade Bourbon is sold in the 30A Distilling Co tasting room and $100 from every bottle purchased ($175/bottle) goes directly to the Bailey Brigade to support their mission. Get your bottle before this exceptional Bourbon is gone forever!
